René BeVier Dill, a Northglenn High School graduate and drama student, received her training at the University of Northern Colorado, attaining degrees in Theatre Arts, with emphases in Acting, Directing and Teaching, as well as a degree in English. René discovered her love for the theatre as a performer, where she was a familiar face in many local theatre companies and dinner theatres. Some favorites roles include Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me, Kathy Seldon in Singing in the Rain, and Bianca in Taming of the Shrew. After graduating from UNC, René relocated to New York City to further her training. She took courses in film and commercial acting at the Creative Acting Company, scene study at the Atlantic Theatre Company, and studied voice with renowned Broadway and Opera teacher, Sherrie Anderson.René also taught at the nationally acclaimed Theatre and Dance Alliance (TADA!), a youth theatre company that specialized in theatre outreach in the public schools. Rene taught in every borough ofNew York City, working as a director and choreographer, before she was offered the job at her alma matter. The summer of 2005, René received a fellowship to study Shakespeare’s New Globe Theatre in London for three weeks. She was immersed in instruction on movement, voice and language, from the Globe Theatre masters, and was even given the opportunity of a lifetime to perform a scene from The Tempest on the Globe Stage. Since embarking on her teaching career, René has limited time to perform; however, she has performed for the Denver community theatre company, Musique and Masque, playing the roles of Ms. Stacy, in Anne of Green Gables, as well as the Baroness in The Sound of Music. She would love to thank the four loves of her life, her husband, Brandon, her sons, Jackson, and Eliot, and her daughter, Josephine, for continuing to support her and understand the many hours she is away from the home being the Northglenn Drama Mama!
